Reformation at Work

Message from ICCC Africa Regional Director

Greetings from Nigeria. “Grace to you and peace from God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, to whom be glory forever and ever Amen”! Gal. 1 vs. 3-5

This is the season of Jubilee, fifty-year anniversary, of the reunification of Jerusalem following the Six Day War in 1967. This could only have happened because of the prophetic Word of God about the destiny of Jerusalem and indeed the nation of Israel. We can therefore draw encouragement that the prophetic Words of the Lord concerning you and indeed the nations of Africa will also come to pass in their season!! Indeed this is such a season to “Believe in the LORD your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper” 2 Chronicles 20 vs. 20a.

This is also the 500 year anniversary of the Reformation that impacted the culture not only in Europe but the entire world. God by His Spirit then moved men like Martin Luther and John Calvin to  challenge the status quo that birthed not just a revival of the true worship of God, but much more a “reformation” or change of lifestyle that impacted the work culture. Various inventions were birthed as a result of that move of God including the proper measurement of time among others. The understanding of work as our worship to God was also revived. Think about if all of the zeal we exhibit in our “worship” today has a corresponding fervency in our attitude to our work? I believe the times has come to see and understand our work as our worship to God. This will surely unlock a creativity that Africa is yet to experience and contribute to the world.

It is with this understanding that we invite you to join us in Lagos during the days of the August 25-27 2017 to explore more and seek to understand from the Lord what “Reformation at Work” means to you and indeed all Africa in this season. The international board of the International Christian Chamber of Commerce (ICCC) sees this as an important call for this season along with the imperative to build “koinonia”, or a deep level of fellowship, for the manifestation of our call in the marketplace.

We look forward to a very special time together in the presence of the Lord as we see His glory arise over us in this season to “arise and shine”. May His name be glorified in our gathering in Lagos!
